Is New Zealand in Australia Muppets and Well Do It All Again

They say it isn't easy existence green – unless of grade you're Kermit the Frog exploring the Coolest Footling Capital in the coolest lilliputian state in the earth.

Kermit, the Muppets and some of their Sesame Street and Fraggle Rock pals are in Wellington this month for the Jim Henson Restrospectacle, celebrating the life and work of the much-loved Muppet'due south creator.

New Zealand's natural environment and hospitality is proving popular with the American personalities, who said they'd already fallen in love with our country at a press briefing with Bret McKenzie on Mon.

"We love New Zealand, it'south and so beautiful here," said Sesame Street's Ernie.

"It'southward very greenish, and that is important to me," said Kermit.

The duo says their experience with New Zealanders has already left a lasting impression.

"I've merely been here a few days, only gosh I'd honey to take the people of New Zealand dwelling," says Ernie. "They're so wonderful, I'd love to take them abode with me but I didn't bring plenty luggage to fit 'em all."

Kermit agreed, proverb: "Everyone's and then friendly. We've met and so many new friends here."

Tourism New Zealand Chief Executive, Stephen England-Hall says this is something he hopes to hear from all international visitors.

"Manaakitanga, or Kiwi hospitality, is something uniquely New Zealand that brings visitors back time and time again," says Mr England-Hall.

"For many international visitors, New Zealand is a in one case-in-a-lifetime trip and so information technology's fantastic to hear they accept such warm experiences that they can and then share with friends and family.

"After their experience this week, I hope we'll get the opportunity to welcome Kermit and Ernie and their friends dorsum again soon."

The stars say they'll be exploring Wellington'southward sights during their reanimation.

Kermit says he's interested in visiting the seal colony at Red Rocks for business purposes: "It might be fun to see, but I am also thinking about auditioning a few seals for our next bear witness. You know, because we're always looking for new talent."

Ernie is planning to visit the Cuba Street saucepan fountain – "Considering that's e'er been on my bucket listing" – and the diving platform on Wellington'south waterfront.

He also had plans with Bert to visit Zealandia, the globe's get-go fully-fenced urban ecosanctuary on Mon to run across if they could discover some of Big Bird'south relatives. Instead, they reportedly establish the actual Big Bird and bilingual Muppet, Rosita.
